As many of you are aware, the City of Red Oak and surrounding areas experienced a significant amount of rain this past weekend. There were numerous structures both residential and commercial businesses that were impacted by the amount of rain received in a short period of time. The City of Red Oak and staff have been working diligently since the storms to identify the locations within the City that experienced flooding issues.If you or someone you know within Red Oak had any type of damage due to the water entering structures, please let us know via the email listed below. The City of Red Oak along with Ellis County is asking for State/Federal assistance to assist homeowners and business owners with the cost. In order to obtain State/Federal assistance Ellis County as a whole has to meet a certain damage threshold. When the threshold is met, Ellis County and the citizens may be eligible for assistance.In order to document damaged structures we need to gather specific information using an application that captures GIS data for the location of the structure and take a few exterior photos.Also, Public Works is making available a dumpster at 411 W Red Oak Road for any flood debris.
