    Christmas In Downtown Red Oak

    When:  December 9, 2006

    Time:  6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. 

    Parade starts at 5:00 p.m. from Red Oak Park to Highway 342

    The Parks and Recreation Department, the Red Oak Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Merchants will be hosting Christmas In Downtown Red Oak.  The event will take place in Main Street Plaza, located at 205 S. Main Street, and will involve the old downtown area merchants as well.  Santa will arrive on a City of Red Oak fire truck at 6:15 p.m.  Children will have the opportunity to give Santa their Christmas wish list.  Be sure and bring a camera so you can take a picture of your child with Santa.  There will be cookies, hot cocoa, music and other holiday treats.  Make sure and mark your calendar now because you will not want to miss this special evening.

    “Pennies From Heaven” will be collecting new socks and underwear for the less fortunate.

    Listen to ROISD Bands, ROISD Choirs and Carolers.  Watch drama and dance.

    Also, free petting zoo, pony rides provided by One of a Kind and bounce houses provided by Stacy’s Bounce Houses.

    Enjoy free hot chocolate or cider, cookies and candy the merchants will be handing out.

    Red Oak FFA will be selling hot dogs.

     

    Enter To Win

    8′ tall Christmas stocking.  You can enter to win by visiting participating merchants and receiving an entree card, cards passed out during the parade or pick up a card at participating merchants.
