Prominent Children's Author, Pat Mora has initiated a celebration in America called "Day of the Child/ Day of the Book" in which the Children's Literature of all cultures and ethnicities in America is celebrated. Red Oak Public Library and Red Oak ISD are excited to host this event on April 26. Many activities are planned, including a multicultural storyteller, cultural games and activities, food samples, book giveaways, door prizes, and performances. Would you like your culture or country of origin to be represented at this event? Please contact us with what you'd like to contribute. Some ideas are: - a table with artifacts - organization of a game, craft, or activity - a dance or musical performance - a story time with a book from your culture or country - food samples If you would like to make a contribution from your culture to this event, please contact Sonya Weitner at: by March 9th, 2014
