City Municipal Offices and the Red Oak Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 6, in observance of Labor Day.
City Offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 7, at 8:00 a.m. and the Library will reopen on Tuesday, September 7, at 11:00 a.m.

This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $117,677 or 3.13% and of the amount $96,419 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
Of the total property taxes $73,873 of the amount is tax revenue to be raised for debt service and $43,804 is the amount to be raised for maintenance and operations.

Effective Friday, August 20, 2010, Hillside, Summit, Lenard and Methodist (south side of Red Oak Rd.) will be closed at Red Oak Rd. Red Oak Road will be open, but the entrances to these streets at Red Oak Rd. will be closed. This is due to traffic diversions onto the new Red Oak Road. The southern part of these streets will have detour signage for alternate route to homeowners living on these street.
Effective Sunday, August 22, 2010, S. Methodist (east of old Red Oak Elementary, now Admin offices) at Red Oak Road going north toward Bob White will be open to traffic.
Effective Monday, June 14, Red Oak Rd. will be closed from Main St. to SH Hwy 342 until further notice (approximately one month).
Effective Monday, June 28, Methodist St. will be closed from Bob White to Red Oak Rd. for several months. Please note that access from Methodist St. into the Annex Complex will still be available from Methodist St. Traffic will not be able to go through the intersection of Methodist St. and Red Oak Rd. This will also apply to the residents that live within that section of Methodist St. Vehicles will be allowed into this section of Methodist even though traffic is not being allowed straight through.
All road closures will have detour signs that will be checked for proper placement by Public Works staff.

Effective immediately, per order of the Ellis County Commissioners Court meeting of August 9, 2010, it is ordered that a Burn Ban is instituted and in effect for Ellis County, Texas, relative to all outdoor burning. This order shall remain in effect for 90 days from the effective date of this order unless sooner expired by determination of the Texas Forest Service or the Ellis County Commissioners Court . The City of Red Oak Fire Rescue will not allow any current burning or will be issuing any Burn Permits until the Burn Ban is lifted.
