CITY OF RED OAK BID INVITATION
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The City of Red Oak is accepting Sealed Bids for the construction of approximately 14,950 linear feet of new water main improvements, the Dallas Water Supply Transmission Main – Section 1. Bidders shall submit in writing and enclose in a sealed envelope their proposal addressed to the Engineering Dept. of the City of Red Oak, P O Box 393, 411 West Red Oak Road, at the Public Works Building, Red Oak Texas 75154. All proposals shall be plainly marked on both sides of the envelope “BID PROPOSAL-ATTN: ENGINEERING DEPT. “ The City of Red Oak will not be held liable for accidental openings of improperly marked bids. Bids will be accepted until 2 p.m., local time, Monday, December 4, 2006, and will be opened Monday, December 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. for the following:
- Water Main Improvements
The proposed Work generally includes approximately 14,950 feet of 30-inch water main (AWWA C-303) for the Base Bid or 36-inch water main (AWWA C-303) for the Alternate Bid, plus other miscellaneous work. Bidders must submit prices for both the Base and Alternative Bids.
All Bids must be in accordance with the Bidding Documents on file at the office of Black & Veatch Corporation, 9441 LBJ Freeway, Suite 300, Dallas, Texas 75243.
Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from Black & Veatch Corporation at the address indicated herein on the following basis:
Complete set of plans and specifications $125
Geotechnical report and boring logs $25
Charges for Bidding Documents are not refundable.
Neither Owner nor Consulting Engineer has any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or sufficiency of any bid documents obtained from any source other than the source indicated in these documents. Obtaining these documents from any source other than directly from the source listed herein may also result in failure to receive any addenda, corrections, or other revisions to these documents that may be issued.
Attendance at a pre-Bid conference, as specified in the Instructions to Bidders, is encouraged. Bids will be received on a unit price basis. Bid security must accompany each Bid.
The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond, Construction Payment Bond, and Maintenance Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract.
If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form for acceptance of the Bid.
Any bids received after the time and date listed above, regardless of mode of delivery, shall be returned unopened.
