NOTICE TO BIDDERS-CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE/POLICE SUB-STATION
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
CITY OF RED OAK BID INVITATION
The City of Red Oak is accepting sealed bids from Contractors for the construction of an approximately 6,600 sq. ft. Fire/Police Sub-Station.
A reproducible set of Contract Documents may be obtained from the Fire Department Administrative Assistant, located at 547 N. Methodist St., Red Oak, Texas. A non-refundable $100 fee shall be required for a set of Contract Documents.
Bidders shall submit in writing and enclosed in a sealed envelope their proposal to the City of Red Oak Municipal Center, P.O. Box 393, 200 Lakeview Pkwy., Red Oak, Texas 75154. All proposals shall be plainly marked on both sides of the envelope “BID PROPOSAL – CONSTRUCTION - ATTN: CITY SECRETARY”. The City of Red Oak will not be held liable for accidental openings of improperly marked bids. Bids will be accepted until February 2, 2007 at 3:00 p.m., local time, and will be opened February 2, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at City Hall, 200 Lakeview Pkwy., Red Oak, Texas, in the Ronald Reagan room.
Bids will be received on a unit price basis.
The City of Red Oak shall award contract(s) for the construction of the building to Contractors who provide the best value to the City and reserves the right to reject any and all bids. In determining the best value for the City, Red Oak may consider the following criteria with equal weight given to each item:
1. the purchase price;
2. the reputation of the contractor and of the contractor’s goods or services;
3. the quality of the contractor’s goods or services;
4. the extent to which the goods or services meet the city’s needs;
5. the contractor’s past relationship with the City; and
6. the total long-term cost to the City to acquire the contractor’s goods or services.
Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged. This will be held on January 25, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fire Department, located at 547 N. Methodist St., Red Oak, Texas.
