NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING AND WORKSHOP
RED OAK CITY COUNCIL
Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Red Oak City Council will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 6:00 P.M., in the Ronald Reagan Room of the Red Oak Municipal Center, 200 Lakeview Parkway, Red Oak, Texas, at which time the following will be discussed and considered to wit:

- CALL TO ORDER – The Mayor will call the meeting to order, declare quorum if present, and declare notices legally posted pursuant to Open Meetings Act.
- INVOCATION & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
- CONSENT AGENDA – Consent Items”All matters listed under Item IV. Consent Agenda, are considered to be routine by the City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will not be a separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired, that item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be considered separately.”A. Consideration of approving the minutes of the September 11, 2006, Regular City Council Meeting and the September 14, 2006 and September 18, 2006, Special City Council Meetings.B. Consideration of approving the absence of Councilmember Eric Smith from the September 11, 2006, Regular City Council Meeting.C. Consideration of approving a EDUCT Training Grant in the amount of $188,450 and a Homeland Security Safer Grant for staffing in the amount of $617,760, for the Red Oak Fire Department.
- COUNCIL BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION D. Discussion and workshop on Vision 2020. E. Consideration of approving any action as a result of Executive Session.
- EXECUTIVE SESSION
Pursuant to Section §551.071 of the Texas Government Code (the “Act”), the Council reserves the right to convene in Executive Session(s), from time to time as deemed necessary during this meeting for any posted agenda item, to receive advice from its attorney as permitted by law. Pursuant to Section §551.074, of the Texas Government Code (the “Act”), the Council will convene in Executive Session(s), to deliberate personnel matters:A. Council will convene into Executive Session to deliberate the yearly evaluation of the City Secretary and the City Manager.
