MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
RED OAK CITY COUNCIL
Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Red Oak City Council will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at 6:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the Red Oak Municipal Center, 200 Lakeview Parkway, Red Oak, Texas, at which time the following will be discussed and considered, to wit:

I. CALL TO ORDER – The Mayor will call the meeting to order, declare quorum if present, and declare notices legally posted pursuant to Open Meetings Act.
Mayor Todd Little called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. and declared a quorum present. Members present were Mayor Todd Little, Mayor Pro Tem Gary Autrey, Councilmember Ben Goodwyn, Councilmember Scott Lindsey and Councilmember Casey Hargrove. Councilmember Eric Smith was absent.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Pro Tem Autrey led the Council and Citizens in the Pledge of Allegiance.
III. PRESENTATION
Mayor Pro Tem Autrey presented a Plaque of Appreciation and a commemorative Key to the City to Mayor Todd Little.
IV. COUNCIL BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION
A. Conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed voluntary annexation of approximately 1.1277 acres of land west of Lowrance Road, south of FM Highway 2377 and northwest of Josey Lane and abutting the existing city limits of Red Oak on two sides, requested by Steve Skipper.
Mayor Little opened the Public Hearing. No one spoke in favor and no one spoke in opposition. Councilmember Goodwyn made the motion, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Autrey to close the Public Hearing. The motion was unanimous.
B. Consideration of approving a Resolution canvassing the results of the May 13, 2006 General Election.
Council canvassed the results of the May 13, 2006 General Election. Councilmember Hargrove made the motion, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Autrey to approve Resolution No. 06-10: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED OAK, TEXAS, CANVASSING AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE MAY 13, 2006 GENERAL ELECTION TO ELECT MUNICIPAL OFFICERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ron Bryce was elected to office as Mayor with 318 votes. Council Incumbent Eric Smith was elected to office with 328 votes and Council Incumbent Scott Lindsey with 344 votes. The motion was unanimous.
V. OATHS OF OFFICE
Mayor Ron Bryce and Councilmember Scott Lindsey were given the Oath of Office by City Secretary/Notary Judy Grant.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Bryce adjourned the meeting at 6:45 P.M. A reception followed the Council Meeting.
