    JUNE 12, 2007 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING

    MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING 

    RED OAK CITY COUNCIL

    TUESDAY, JUNE 12, 2007 

     

    I. CALL TO ORDER – The Mayor will call the meeting to order, declare a quorum if present, and declare notices legally posted pursuant to Open Meetings Act.

    Mayor Pro Tem Goodwyn called the meeting to order at 6:32 P.M. and declared a quorum present and notices legally posted.  Members present were Mayor Pro Tem Ben Goodwyn, Councilmember Eric Smith, Councilmember Scott Lindsey, Councilmember Casey Hargrove and Councilmember Andy Bell.  Mayor Ron Bryce was not present.

    II. INVOCATION & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

    Councilmember Smith gave the Invocation and Mayor Pro Tem Goodwyn led the Council and Citizens in the Pledge of Allegiance.  

    III.  COUNCIL BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION

    A. Consideration of approving a Resolution canvassing the results of the June 09, 2007 Runoff Election.

    Councilmember Lindsey made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Smith to approve Resolution 07-10: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED OAK, TEXAS, CANVASSING AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE JUNE 09, 2007 RUN-OFF ELECTION TO ELECT MUNICIPAL OFFICERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE and declared Ben Goodwyn the winner of the Run-Off Election.  The motion was unanimous.

    B. Oath of Office for Place 2.

    Councilmember Smith administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Pro Tem Goodwyn. 

    IV.  ADJOURNMENT

    Mayor Pro Tem Goodwyn adjourned the meeting at 6:37 P.M.
