Call to Order - The Board President called the meeting to order, declared a quorum present, and declared notice of legally posted meeting of the Library Advisory Board, pursuant to Open Meetings Act.

- APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM the Library Advisory Board Meeting held on August 9th, 2007 - Deferred.
- WELCOME AND ORIENTATION OF NEW BOARD MEMBERS - Introductions by Dianna Merrill-Claussen, including Robyn Bryant, Lead Librarian as incoming Ex Officio and Gloria Evans as new NETLS Representative.
- CITIZEN’S COMMENTS - Former Mayor Todd Little made an appearance and reference initial library goals and plans, reiterating the library’s need for more space.
- OPEN SESSION - A. Open Meetings Act and Public Information Acts certification at www.oag.state.tx.us for all new members. B. Bylaw discussion, in particular, Article 4: Membership. C. Gloria Evans, Tamera Moses and Mary Leggitt have been approved by the City Council to continue on the Library Advisory Board. Diana Claussen did not submit for re-appointment to the board. Open positions will be discussed at the next board meeting in February 2008. D. Library’s possible participation in Parks & Recreation Department’s Halloween event on October 31, 2007. E. Next meeting will be held February 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library. Upon board members request, Robyn Bryant will formally invite Scott Albert, the new City Manager to attend. F. LEAF - Library Education and Arts Foundation and Friends of the Library were discussed as avenues for library awareness and expansion. G. Utilize an event to broadcast the Library’s presence at Founder’s Day next year. A book donation drive to support a book sale was suggested.
- DIRECTOR’S REPORT - Preschool Story Time began October 2, 2007 with zero participation. Approximately 2,100 flyers were distributed to all five (5) Red Oak Elementary schools, four (4) day care facilities, and Life School. Planning for the Summer Reading club is underway. Monthly statistics for August and September were reviewed and discussed.
