REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OF RED OAK
PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2006 - 7:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 p.m. - Chair Johnny Pearson, Sr. called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and declared a quorum was present. Members present were:

Wedsel Groom, Member
Andy Bell, Vice Chair, arrived at 7:12 p.m.
Daniel Bernheimer, Member
Ginny Lindsey, Secretary
Robin Stephenson, Member
Commissioners absent were: Alternate Max Schrank and Alternate Lydia Bryce
- NEW BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION
- Consideration of approving the minutes of the November 7, 2006 Regular Parks Board Meeting, Workshop November 16, 2006 and Special Meeting and Workshop November 28, 2006.
Member Groom made the motion seconded by Member Bernheimer to approve the minutes of the November 7, 2006 Regular Parks Board Meeting, Workshop November 16, 2006 and Special Meeting and Workshop November 28, 2006. The motion was unanimous.
- Discussion of the Christmas special event “Christmas Downtown Red Oak”.
The Board and Parks Director Michael Hopping discussed the upcoming event “Christmas Downtown Red Oak”, which includes a parade, petting zoo, pony rides, old town Christmas tree, etc. Discussion item only. No action taken.
- Discussion of consultant to help identify Parks and Recreation future needs. Discussion item only. No action taken.
- Discussion and consideration of changing the January 2nd regular meeting date to Janaury 4th.
Member Lindsey made the motion seconded by Member Bell to approve changing the January 2nd regular meeting date to January 4th. The motion was unanimous.

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD - Comments, questions, or presentations for non-agenda items from citizens, but no action may be taken by the Parks and Recreation Board.

STAFF AND BOARD COMMENTS AND REPORTS Michael Hopping - Director of Parks & Recreation: The Parks Department and Public Works has placed metal sign and door on the restrooms at Old Town Park. Open 8:00 a.m. closed at 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, Reservations only for gazebos or pavilions.
