REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OF RED OAK
PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
TUESDAY, APRIL 3, 2007 - 7:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 p.m. - Chair Johnny Pearson, Sr. called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. and declared a quorum was present. Members present were:

Robin Stephenson, Member
Andy Bell, Vice-Chair
Wedsel Groom, Member
Ginny Lindsey, Secretary
Daniel Bernheimer, Member
Commissioners absent were: Max Schrank, Alternate; and Lydia Bryce, Alternate.
- INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Wedsel Groom gave the invocation and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
- NEW BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION
- Consideration of approving the minutes of the March 6, 2007, Regular Parks Board Meeting.
Wedsel Groom gave the motion, Andy Bell seconded, all in favor.
- Discussion item only of Egg Hunt, April 5th, located at Old Town Park. Organization, placement and times discussed. Organization, placement and times discussed.
- Discussion item only Arbor Day, April 27th, located at Fire and Police station. Event to begin around 11:00 a.m.
- Discussion item only Trash Off, June 9th, located on the west side of the Red Oak High School football stadium. Discussion to keep it within the Red Oak resident area. Need to check on additional chipper for the day.
- Discussion and consideration of a new bridge and concrete for trails located at Old Town Park. Ginny Lindsey made motion, Wedsel Groom seconded, all in favor.
- Discussion of a spillway located in the creek in Old Town Park. Andy Bell discussed possible water addition to Old City Park. Board to look over and discuss later.
- Discussion of new Trailhead and trail route. Board to continue to keep looking and discussing best possible location.

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD Comments, questions or presentations for non-agenda items from citizens, but no action may be taken by the Parks & Recreation Board. Mr. Dobbs raised the question about possible soccer, baseball and football fields in the future. He also stated an interest in joining the Board.

STAFF AND BOARD COMMENTS AND REPORTS Michael Hopping, Director of Parks & Recreation, discussed donation from Paula Lindstrom and tree memorial for Mark Denson. These comments were brought up during the Easter Egg Hunt promotion and Arbor Day Event.
