CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 p.m. - Chair Johnny Pearson, Sr. called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.

- INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Ginny Lindsey gave the invocation and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
- NEW BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION
- Consideration of approving the minutes of the June 5, 2007, Regular Parks Board Meeting. Robin Stephenson gave motion, Adam Chapa seconded, all in favor.
- Discussion and consideration of Electing a new Vice-Chair. Johnny Pearson, Sr. gave the motion to nominate Ginny Lindsey, seconded by Robin Stephenson, all in favor. Ginny Lindsey will hold Vice-Chair and Secretary position until a secretary is elected at the next Park and Rec Board meeting.
- Discussion item only - Municipal Center Park and improving pond. Michael Hopping gave an update along with pavilions, swings, playground equipment, grills, bike racks, different fountains for the board members to look at. Want to start the concrete trail prior to the end of this fiscal year. Ginny Lindsey made the suggestion for any metal work to be done to contact Mr. Fred Garcia.
- Discussion and consideration of trail benches and trash can receptacles and colors for Old Town Park. Ginny Lindsey made the motion to order 10 Model FSC-F1050 Maroon benches with black straight mount frames that will be concreted in and 15 Model GSC-L1336 trash receptacle with Model FSC-F140 in-ground kits in black, Robin Stephenson seconded, motion carried.

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD Comments, questions or presentations for non-agenda items from citizens, but no action may be taken by the Parks & Recreation Board. No citizens present.

STAFF AND BOARD COMMENTS AND REPORTS Michael Hopping, Director of Parks & Recreation - Gave update that he has hired his new secretary and she will start July 9, 2007. The progress at Old Town Park and restrooms is as follows:
Trails are 90% complete; Both New Bridges are here but due to rain waiting to be placed; Bottom portion of slide ordered-$846.00; Will put wood chips in the dinosaur area; Once trash can receptacles and benches are in they will get set
Bathrooms are 85% complete; Stall doors for women; Mens area almost complete. Amy Hedtke voiced that the citizens in her area do not want trails tied in. Jeff Smith brought in the suggestion of Drive Inn Movie Theatre Night. Blue Moon Cinemas handle everything we have to have sponsors for the movie cost ($2700.00) and someone to handle concessions. Next Meeting was moved to August 6, 2007 due to National Night Out being the same night as our meeting night. Robin Stephenson made the motion with Jeff Smith second. Motion unanimous
