CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 p.m. - Chair Johnny Pearson, Sr. called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.

- INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Adam Chapa gave the invocation and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
- NEW BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION
- Consideration of approving the minutes of the July 3, 2007, Regular Parks Board Meeting. Robin Stephenson gave motion, Carol Johnson seconded, with corrections. The motion was unanimous.
- Discussion and consideration of Electing a new Secretary. Ginny Lindsey gave the motion to nominate Robin Stephenson. seconded by Jeff Smith. the motion was unanimous.
- Discussion item only - Fall Festival (Halloween Carnival) with the Tourism Department. Michael Hopping gave ideas on having a safe alternative for the youths of Red Oak for Halloween. Suggestions made for times and different games, bounce house and age limit 12 and under. We will have a workshop for more brainstorming. Discussion items only-no action taken.
- Discussion item only-Christmas Downtown Red Oak. Michael Hopping wanting to get the ball started. Ginny Lindsey has already begun contacting ROISD for the parade. We will have better parking with more support from the ROPD. Michael Hopping has already booked Santa Claus, the Christmas Downtown will be December 8, 2007, the second Saturday in December. Discussion items only-no action taken.
- Discussion and Consideration of Founder’s Day Volleyball and Horseshoe Tournaments. Carol Johnston made the motion that the tournaments would take place, seconded by Ginny Lindsey. The motion was unanimous.
- CITIZENS TO BE HEARD - Comments, questions, or presentations for non-agenda items from citizens, but no action may be taken by the Parks and Recreation Board. No citizens present.

STAFF AND BOARD COMMENTS AND REPORTS Michael Hopping, Director of Parks & Recreation - Gave update that trails are 100% complete; both new bridges are here and in place; trash can receptacles and benches are have been ordered; bathrooms are complete; had one case of vandalism in the last two weeks, have already repainted and ready; will have budget report for board members at September’s meeting. Johnny Pearson let the board know that they needed to complete Open Meetings Act and Public Information Act and get the certificates online. Ginny Lindsey, Vice Chair, wants everyone to meet Saturday to tour parks.
