CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 p.m. - Park Board Chair, Johnny Pearson, Sr. called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

- INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Adam Chapa gave the invocation. Johnny Pearson, Sr. led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
- PRESENTATION Certificates of appreciation were awarded to several individuals/groups for their help with Christmas Downtown event. Those awarded were: Charles & Stacy Smith of Stacy’s Bounce Houses, Cathy Harris of Dance Expressions, Aaron and Sandy Wickware of Aaron’s Designs, David and Laura Alexandra of Bandit Signs, Shane Berhardt of Keith’s Ace Hardware, Lt. Boyd Brock and Sgt. Jim Langham and the Red Oak Explorers Post #1132. A donation was also made to the Explorers for their contribution.
- NEW BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION
- Consideration of approving the minutes of the December 4, 2007, Regular Meeting. Ralph Madden gave motion, Adam Chapa seconded, all in favor.
- Discussion of upcoming Easter Egg Hunt.
- Consideration of approving a luncheon for the senior citizens of Red Oak. March 20th was the suggested date, with us buying the lunch from Luby’s. Invitations will be sent out to the seniors as well as Council, Mayor, City Manager and City Directors.
- Discussion of the proposed parkland and time line. Director Michael Hopping gave the Board an update on actions being taken in the department to ensure all deadlines would be met for appraisals and environmental study.
- Discussion of visiting with Red Oak citizens that reside around the City Park. Director Michael Hopping discussed the possibility of Board Members talking with residents around the park and letting them know that their involvement/assistance in watching the park would be appreciated.
- CITIZENS TO BE HEARD - Comments, questions, or presentations for non-agenda items from citizens, but no action may be taken by the Parks and Recreation Board. Candayce Tucker spoke to the Board regarding Red Oak Baseball and Softball Association using the Parks marquee for their advertisements.
