CALL TO ORDER - 7:06 p.m. - Park Board President Johnny Pearson called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m.

Jeff Smith - arrived at 7:50 p.m.
Ralph Madden, Member
Alternates Present:
- INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Ginny Lindsey gave the invocation and Johnny Pearson, Sr. led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- PRESENTATIONS Director Michael Hopping presented a certificate of presentation to the Volunteers of the Ovilla Garden Club.
- NEW BUSINESS – OPEN SESSION
- Consideration of approving the minutes of the April 1, 2008, Regular Parks Boards Meeting and Joint Workshop with City Council and the IDC held on April 17, 2008. Ginny Lindsey made motion, Ralph Madden seconded; all in favor.
- Discussion of the upcoming Trash-Off Day on June 14th. Michael Hopping discussed changes and information regarding the event. Marvine Morrow of Ellis County agreed to provide community service workers for the event as well.
- Discussion and consideration of approving other activities for the Red Oak Senior Citizens Club. Ginny Lindsey suggested planning a quarterly outing for the club and Michael Hopping discussed various activities that had been researched for the seniors to do. Johnny Pearson, Sr. made a motion, Ginny Lindsey seconded; all in favor.
- Discussion of taking tours of other parks in and out of the DFW area. Michael Hopping asked Board to be aware that park tours will begin to be scheduled during the summer months and will last for approximately 6-7 weeks.
- CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
- STAFF AND BOARD COMMENTS AND REPORTS - Michael Hopping shared a letter of appreciation from the Senior Citizens for the Easter luncheon that the Parks Department and Board provided for them. He also added that the new fall material had been installed on the playground at the city park.

ADJOURNMENT - The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Ralph Madden made a motion to dismiss at 7:50 p.m., Adam Chapa seconded; all in favor.
