Running at Large

It is prohibited for the owner or person in control of any dog to permit such dog to run at large on the street alleys or on a public place within the city. Every dog at all times must be either:

  • Confined by fence of significant strength and height to prevent the dog from escaping 
  • Kept inside the house 
  • Kept secure on the premises by a leash or a chain of significant strength and length to prevent escape from the premises 
  • Under control of its owner by means of leash to control the dog’s actions 

Note: Domestic cats have no restrictions to running at large.
