Fishing Regulations

FishinRed Oak Parks and Rec, through a partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) offers neighborhood fishin'. The neighborhood fishin' program offers a quality fishing experience to families who want to enjoy the outdoors in their communities. TPWD works with local governments to stock neighborhood lakes with fun and easy-to-catch fish.



Community Lake Fishing Regulations

  • Fishing is by pole and line only: No trotlines, jug lines, throw lines, bows, and arrows, spears, or nets.
  • Limit of 2 poles per angler 

What kind of fish are in Red Oak?

Bass

Largemouth Bass

  • 14” minimum length limit
  • 5-fish daily bag limit

Channel CatBlue & Channel Catfish

  • No minimum length limit
  • 5-fish daily bag limit; in any combination

Redear Sunfish

Sunfishes (bluegill, redear, longear & their hybrids)

  • No minimum length limit
  • No daily bag limit
