The Permits and Inspections Division is responsible for receiving applications, reviewing plans, and issuing permits for a variety of construction activities that require a permit per city ordinances. Examples of permits include building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and major construction improvement permits.
The City of Red Oak conducts inspections of all work requiring a permit through a combined use of in-house and contracted inspectors.

The City of Red Oak adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 5.38 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $-40.57.
