Utilities Providers
Setting up utilities, or contacting utility companies if you have a problem, can be challenging at times. Below are the utility companies that provide services to the City of Red Oak.
Water System
The current water supply for the City of Red Oak is unique. Portions of the City are covered by a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN).
This area was formerly supplied by a City run well system. It is currently supplied by a water line from the City of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU).
Wastewater System
The City of Red Oak is currently served by the Trinity River Authority for wastewater treatment. The treatment plant serving the City is the Red Oak Creek Regional Treatment Plant.
Electricity
Texas is the only state with its own power grid, making it completely independent from other national networks, where one state's decisions may affect electricity markets in all other states.
- Oncor Electric Delivery- Oncor Electric Delivery Company is Texas's largest regulated electric delivery business and the sixth largest in the United States. It supplies electricity to approximately 10 million consumers in a service area of over 400 communities in east, west and north-central Texas.
- Oncor SaveOnEnergy - an energy marketplace offering energy plans from top retailers in the Oncor service area. In addition to information about Oncor, the SaveOnEnergy page provides residents with contact information in case of an outage or emergency as well as electricity plans for residents and businesses
Natural Gas
Natural gas service is provided by ATMOS Energy Corporation (ATMOS). Headquartered in Dallas, ATMOS is one of the country’s largest natural-gas-only distributors, serving approximately 3 million customers from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the East to the Rocky Mountains in the West.
Telephone
Over 400 competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC’s) are certified to provide competitive local phone services in Texas.
Search for Telecommunication Providers that Serve Your Municipality for information from the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) will be provided to facilitate the identification of local telecommunications providers serving municipalities within the State of Texas. Not all municipalities are represented; only the ones for whom the PUC has the most current information on local service providers' activity.
