The Red Oak Police Department offers crime prevention programs that assist citizens in lowering or eliminating their risk of becoming the victim of criminal activity. The department has personnel that are assigned to assist you and your neighbors by providing instruction on a variety of programs. Citizens On Patrol
The Citizens on Patrol is a citizens’ support unit for the Red Oak Police Department. This unit is used for non-emergency calls and helps prevent and deter criminal activity through high visibility patrols and community events. Click on the link to learn more about the program.
Citizens Police Academy
The Citizens Police Academy is an accelerated civilian training program that seeks to improve police/community relations through educating the public about police work. Click on the link to learn more about the program.
Citizens Public Safety Academy
The Citizens Public Safety Academy is a 28-30 hour block training program designed to give the public a working knowledge of the Red Oak Police and Fire Departments. Click on the link to learn more about the program.
Close Patrol / Vacation Watch
The Red Oak Police Department provides a close patrol/vacation watch to it's citizens while they are away on vacation. Click on the link to learn more about the program.
Flag Retirement Service
The Red Oak Police Department maintains a flag retirement receptacle that was donated from the Sons of the American Legion Chris Kyle Squadron #388 to dispose of worn and tattered American flags for proper disposal by the Sons of the American Legion. National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. Click on the link to learn more about the program.
Prescription Drug Disposal
The Red Oak Police Department has taken additional steps to help keep harmful, unused medications out of the hands of children by providing a drop off box for proper disposal of prescription medication. Click on the link to learn more about the program.
Ride Along Program
The Ride Along Program provides officers the opportunity to explain the how’s and why’s of police work. Too often, citizens’ perceptions of police work are based solely on television dramas. The program gives the citizen the opportunity to see incidents from the officer's perspective. Click on the link to learn more about the program.
Special / Targeted Enforcement Request
The Red Oak Police Department provides an option to citizens to make a special / targeted enforcement request in a specific area of the City of Red Oak. Special / Targeted enforcement requests may be in the form of manned patrol vehicles, radar speed trailers that conduct speed and traffic studies or a myriad of other measures utilized for targeted enforcement.
